Angie McMahon is quickly gathering a reputation for moving audiences with her soulful ruminations on life, love and takeaway food. Angieʼs honest songwriting and romantic melodies cover the full dynamic spectrum, shifting between gravelly intimacy and pounding rock. Angie pours it all out on stage, drawing inspiration from artists like Bruce Springsteen, Lianne La Havas, Big Thief and Tom Waits. Angie dove into the Australian music scene with her first single Slow Mover which quickly connected to enthusiastic audiences, landing herself #33 in triple jʼs Hottest 100 in 2018. Since then Angie has released two follow up singles, Missing Me and Keeping Time. Angie has become one of the most played artists on triple j, with Missing Me landing #49 in this yearʼs Hottest 100. The singles have garnered support in the online world, receiving 15 million plays on Spotify and Apple Music and Angie recently embarked on her first headline tour of Australia selling out 1500-2000 capacity venues. All singles to date have charted on the Spotify Viral Charts and the AIR Charts in Australia. Angieʼs music has connected both locally and internationally within blogs and online publications, as well as receiving high rotation throughout Australian radio, with Keeping Time landing #1 most played artist on Australiaʼs #1 youth station, triple j. Since pursuing music full time, Angie has supported and toured with the likes of Father John Misty, The Shins, Alanis Morissette, Angus & Julia Stone, Leon Bridges and Mumford & Sons and will soon support Pixies in the United States. Angie entered the Australian festival circuit playing Australian Open, Splendour in the Grass, Laneway Festival and will play all shows with Groovin the Moo in 2019. In 2018 Angie was nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year (AIR), Unearthed Artist of the Year (J Awards), Best Solo Artist and Best Victorian Breakthrough Act (Music Victoria Awards), Live Act of the Year (National Live Music Awards) and was the 2018 recipient of the Best Live Voice of the Year (National Live Music Awards) and the triple j Unearthed Laneway winner.
