A self-professed "PK" (Preacher's Kid), Lydia displayed a gift for singing, music and playing the piano at an early age. She served as a musician and taught music to choirs at her father's church from the age of fourteen until her early thirties. With a successful 20-year career in the legal field under her belt, Lydia pressed on in pursuit of a music career. She served as the worship leader for ten years under the leadership of Pastor Alyn E. Waller at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
She went on to perform background vocals and studio work for high-profile producers in the Philadelphia area. Lydia spread her wings as a solo artist and performed her first show in 2013 to great success. By the following year, her performances demanded a second show to accommodate her growing audience. At one of her shows, a good friend introduced Lydia and proclaimed that her show is more like an "experience." From that moment, a band was born. The Lydia Hilliard Experience is a culmination of Lydia's powerful, yet melodic singing style and engaging, down-to-earth stage presence, accompanied by a talented group of singers and musicians. Her gospel and soul-infused sound reaches a diverse audience that continues to grow in numbers.
