Philadelphia-based Saxophonist, Songwriter, Producer, Darryl Bennett delivers the most authentic and sultry instrumental music around by fusing Jazz, R&B, and HipHop rhythm into a unique package. His newest album “I Want You” features pulsing production from The Kingʼs Men, and collaborations with poet and songstress Ryann on the song “Right Time,” and HipHop artist, James Allen on the song,” Be With You.” Darryl was raised in Willingboro, New Jersey, which bred other talented musicians such as Wanya Morris (Boyz II Men), City High, Derrick Hodge, and Adam Blackstone to name a few. The Willingboro native got his start playing for churches, where he explored blending jazz influences of Grover Washington Jr. and Mike Philips into a gospel sound. From church bands to jam bands, and home recordings to major studios, Darryl has sharpened his sound around all of the myriad of diverse environments and cultural influences that Philadelphia has to offer. Notably, he played a part on Def Jam recording artist Earl St. Clairʼs record “Man on Fire,” which went on to be featured on TV shows like TNTʼs Good Behavior, and the feature movie trailer for Alien: Covenant. That tremendous experience led Darryl to working with Grammy Award winning producer, Dilemma, on his live show, “INRGI.” What do you get when you combine artists Drake, Maxwell, and Usher into a saxophonist? You get Darryl Bennett. A sound that is smooth yet bold… dynamic and engaging. An instrumentalist with a lyrical sensibility. Currently: Darryl is celebrating the launch of his newest project, “I Want You,” which launches June 14. The album is described as a journey into the inner workings of relationships and the self-love necessary to make them succeed.
