What’s Up at WCL (Covid Update)

August 26, 2020

Dear WCL Guests,

As Philadelphia prepares to enter a new phase of reopening in early September, including indoor dining and performing arts venues, World Cafe Live will remain closed to the public until further notice. We want to reopen as much as anyone, but not until it’s sustainable and safe for our community of staff, artists, and guests.

Under these new guidelines imposed by the City, performing arts venues must limit audiences to 25 guests, regardless of space and size, with no food or drink service. Indoor dining is limited to 25% capacity with a maximum party of 4 people. These numbers alone make it impossible for organizations like WCL who rely on social gathering and shared experiences to reasonably reopen. Add on face shields, partitions & other protective measures, and it’s just not financially feasible for us and many other venues and restaurants across the city.

We want you to have the best WCL experience possible every time you step through our doors. So for now, we’ll keep our distance until that can happen. We’re staying busy with a variety of virtual programming, from concert live streams to educational programming, as well as curbside pickup into the fall. Follow along with our weekly email blasts and social media for the latest updates.

Thanks a million for your continued patience, understanding, and support!

All the best,
World Cafe Live
