DJ Metamorfo (aka Michael Noonan Goenaga) was born and raised within the rhythmic diversity of Jamaica, Queens and his extensive music collection mirrors this. Whether DJing or promoting an event, he likes to blend styles in surprising ways. He feels right at home whether the party calls for Salsa Dura, Caribbean rhythms, Funk breakbeats, and beyond. In 2018, Metamorfo created Bushwick Berraco, a Brooklyn based party reminiscent of tropical ballroom dances of 1970’s New York City. Before that, he held a weekend residency at Terraza 7 in Elmhurst, Queens. Since 2016, he has DJed and cohosted Viva La Comida, an annual street festival in Jackson Heights, Queens featuring food vendors and live music from the many international diasporas of the neighborhood. Metamorfo has been featured at countless bars and event spaces including Terraza 7, Santa Salsa, La Cumbanchita, Talon Bar, Showtime Lounge (DC), Caribbean Social Club (aka Toñita’s), The Sampler BK, Gold Sounds, The Green Zone (DC), Starr Bar, D’Antigua, Project Parlor, Duo Gastro Pub, Deseos, SiF Lounge, Zona Rosa Taqueria, H0L0, The Deep Groove, El Retiro, & the People’s Garden.
