DMV rapper and record producer Oddisee realized early on that purpose and success are self-designated. Born Amir Elkhalifa in Washington D.C. to a Sudanese father and African American mother, and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, he bore witness to stark inequity early in life and became as political as the city he was raised in. Elkhalifa tackles the human condition with unwavering conviction and candor, merging elements of jazz, funk, and go-go into his hip-hop rooted production. Instead of pursuing record deals and executives, Elkhalifa has taken the less-traveled path. Streamlining elements of the industry early on, from single-handedly recording, producing, and mixing his music to steering his marketing strategy and tour runs. A string of contemporary releases—Rock Creek Park (2011), The Beauty in All (2013), The Good Fight (2015), Alwasta (2016), and The Iceberg (2017)—headlining performances and tours with his 5-piece band, Good Compny, and streams in the multi-millions have propelled him to international recognition and acclaim.

Rapper-songwriter The Bul Bey tells the authentic story of Philadelphia native meets global citizen. With the optimism of a school teacher, the honesty of an Imam, and a lexicon only a Philly Bul could truly comprehend, the playful Hip Hop wordsmith’s bouncy bars elevate the bright sides of working class life.

Amir Mohamed el Khalifa, (born February 24, 1985) better known by his stage name Oddisee, is an US-American rapper and producer from Washington, DC. He is one third of rap trio Diamond District. He was also part of the Low Budget Crew. Oddisee was raised by his African American mother and Sudanese father, initially in affluent Silver Spring, Montgomery Co, MD, per a Scott Simon NPR interview on February 18, 2017. He described his boyhood there and a caucasian best friend as referenced in his lyrics and detailed with Simon.
GOOD COMPNY Bio Towards the end of 2011, Producer/M.C., Oddisee was prepping to tour his debut LP, “People Hear What They See” released on prolific hip-hop music label, MELLOMUSICGROUP. As his production style consisted heavily of live instrumentation, he felt doing the usual DJ/M.C. show would not do justice to the live element he felt it deserved. Thus, he decided to attempt his tour this time around with a live band. What better way to execute this than with the guys who played on the album? This idea gave birth to the elite sound of GOOD COMPNY. Although the name had not materialized until later, GOOD COMPNY includes Jon Laine (JLAINE) on drums/vocals, Dennis Turner (MR. TURNER) on bass, Ralph Washington (RALPH REAL) on keys/vocals, Olivier St. Louis on guitar/vocals Richard Patterson (UNOWN) on MPC and Oddisee at the helm as lead vocals. Albeit Oddisee's impressive credentials, the GOOD COMPNY roster boasts a notable set of their own. Jon Laine and MR.TURNER (both individually and collectively) have worked and performed with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, David Foster, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Omar, Dave Chappelle and many others. Olivier St Louis as a singer/songwriter has recorded and toured with super producer Hudson Mohawke and two-time, platinum selling producer/DJ group C2C.Dj's. Ralph Washington, an accomplished pianist has over 20 years of professional musicianship has performed on Oddisee’s albums for 10 years, and Richard Patterson, a sound engineer by trade, is also a prolific Hip-Hop producer landing production credit with Raekwon of the Wu-Tang clan in 2013. Oddisee and GOOD COMPNY'S unique sound is an eclectic combination of genres primarily based in Hip-Hop and soul with elements of Jazz, Funk and 'Go-Go', a music style native to the collectives hometown of Washington DC. Within two short years, Oddisee and GOOD COMPNY have garnered an already impressive resume with over 50 performances nationally and internationally receiving high praise from fans and critics alike. In fact, some of the critics are dubbing the group as, 'The New Roots.' Due to rising popularity, GOOD COMPNY had to force a much needed hiatus to work on the next chapter, “The GOOD COMPNY ALBUM” ...Watch the Space.
