NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Contest is hitting the road! Join us this summer for a one-of-a-kind concert experience showcasing the incredible talent of the 2023 Contest Winner, plus some amazing Tiny Desk Contest artists from each city. Nearly 6,000 unsigned bands and artists entered the Tiny Desk Contest in 2023. Our judges picked one winner who will get to perform behind the Tiny Desk at NPR’s headquarters, and we discovered many great musicians along the way. Now, we’re teaming up with Member stations to take the show across the country this summer.

The 2023 Tiny Desk Contest is presented by Capital One and supported by Guayaki Yerba Mate.

Check back soon for more information on the winner and the full lineup.

Capital One is proud to be the presenting sponsor of NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest.

Led by singer-songwriter Emma Hardyman’s soaring vocals and intricate arrangements, Little Moon is a Utah band that mixes folk, pop and indie rock. The group’s powerful Tiny Desk Contest winning entry, “Wonder Eye,” is about how “accepting the mysterious, shadowy nature of death can deepen one's sense of humanity and soften the ways we see ourselves and each other.”
Julia Pratt is a 22 year old singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia. A songwriter at heart, Julia’s music blends pop, jazz, r&b, and folk, with dashes of electronic production. Grounded in poignant lyricism inspired by songwriters such as Kevin Garrett, Amy Winehouse, and Hozier, Julia writes about family, love, betrayal, and grappling with the concept of “the self.” Fresh off of a national tour opening for Australian ambient pop artist Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Julia is gearing up for a series of releases throughout the rest of 2023 while continuing to perform.
Kikashima is the band, moniker, and brainchild of Mexican-Japanese-Californian singer-songwiter, Carissa Matsushima aka Kikashima. Born from equal parts legacy and rebellion, Kikashima is a sweet, soulful, thunderous rock band that features heart-breaking melodies and down to Earth story-telling over rhythms that move both your soul and your feet underneath you. Dropping hints of disco, funk, soul, and even country, their music is as multi-faceted as Kikashima herself. Always in the groove thanks to Parker St. Charles (Bass) and Max Azarmehr (Drums), Kikashima’s gorgeous vocals range from the intimacy of a secret to the urgency of a roof-top proclamation, sharing the beauty of grief, growth, and the strength to feel everything.
