A Year in the Life
of Live:
World Cafe Live Celebrates our First Birthday!
During the
whole month of October, World Cafe Live will be celebrating our first
anniversary. We opened our doors to the public on October 2, 2004 with the
intention of changing the landscape for artists and audiences, and, from
the feedback we have received from you over the past year, it seems we are
living up to our promise!
In our first
year we've had over 100,000 guests visit, 1350 musicians perform, 200
private events held and about 100,000 beers consumed. We hope you were able
to enjoy some of the fun - but if you missed it, no worries, there is
plenty more to come.
|
|
Year Two

As we rev up for Year Two, our agenda is increasingly ambitious. World Cafe
Live is developing a HD concert series expected to begin broadcasting in
January, 2006. Also, we plan to expand our MusicLab
education program by distributing MusicLab
educational teaching packages and DVD's to local schools, and we have an
agreement with a HD television distributor to broadcast a season of the MusicLab series. In addition, look for even more
chances to discover new live music, including a new nightly programming concept
for the Upstairs Live Cafe to be unveiled later this fall.
|
|
Our Birthday. Your gift.
In
celebration of our first anniversary, World Cafe Live will be drawing 2
free tickets every day in October to be awarded to participants in our Live Access Program —
THAT'S YOU! So if you know anyone who hasn't gone "Live" yet,
tell them to sign up for Live Access at worldcafelive.com
to get on the gift list.
